We are however realistic. Enthusiasm is growing – but at the moment relatively few advisers are entirely focused on operating in this way (even though we are expecting increased regulation in this area over the next year or so).
As such, we do not expect sustainable, responsible or ethical investment options to necessarily be the only investments offered by ‘Dialshifting’ advisers in the same way that we recognise individuals may hold investments that are out of line with their current views.
What we do however expect is that all clients should now be given the option to invest in ways that reflect their personal views – and that the relevant people within advisory firms are competent in this regard – particularly relating to key environmental risks.
